This small collection of artworks is a tribute to a young creature of nature, curious about the wider world, stepping forward with innocence and a fearless heart.
Inspired by the way fawns slowly lose their little white dots on their backs as they grow toward adulthood, these pieces follow the little wanderer (young beings, young wanderer, dreaming wanderer, innocent wanderer) of the natural world as they grow and change, beings touched by magic, moving through a life that is tender, fleeting, and full of mystery.
They remind us of the delicate vulnerability of nature, and invite us to pause, notice, and cherish its presence a little more deeply.

melting into the dappled sunlight beneath the trees.
The creative Process
During one of my forest wanders, I met a young deer.
She peeked at me from behind a tree trunk, curiosity flickering in her eyes, yet with quiet vigilance.
I chose to step back, watching silently from the shelter of another tree, allowing her to remain wholly herself. I photographed her natural presence, unguarded and true.
As she wandered uphill toward a veil of gentle sunlight filtering through the forest, I sensed her curiosity for the wider world. She stepped forward with innocence and a fearless heart. The quiet courage held within her small body spoke of a life in transition, moving toward adulthood while still carrying the gentleness and wonder of youth. In that moment, I felt a deeper urge to cherish the delicate vulnerability of the natural world.
The encounter also brought to mind a story I once heard about fawns and their white spots. As they grow, the spots slowly soften and fade away. I have always loved them, as they remind me of dappled sunlight scattered across the forest floor. I began to imagine that, as young deer wander through the woods with curious hearts, those little spots slowly melt into the light beneath the trees.
From that imagining, this series was born.
